For Label Night, we brought Shinsei Kamattechan to China—a band that has been active for over a decade, has participated in only one overseas event, but has gained widespread influence in independent culture through their powerful impact and live performances. We also invited GOMESS, an alternative representative of Japanese-Hip-Hop, to form the lineup. With a performance spanning over three hours and an electrifying atmosphere, this show has become the legendary night repeatedly talked about.

Aiming to break through the domestic live music scene with Vocaloid culture, we brought Kikuo's most vibrant and forward-thinking music to life: In May 2024, we brought Kikuo to the Beijing Strawberry Music Festival, marking the first time a Vocaloid producer performed at a major domestic music festival. In August, we joined Kikuo on his world tour, starting from Chinese livehouses, completing the first global tour by a Vocaloid producer. It was after our attempts that domestic music festivals and livehouses began to gradually embrace the colourful melodies of Vocaloid.

Where is the future of Japanese pop music?
At the crossroads, we curated Sasuke Haraguchi's first solo shows in Shanghai and Beijing, attempting to offer answers and clues. The show opened with a Vocaloid DJ set by his friend Frog96, showcasing his personal taste within this lineage through top-tier production and track selection. Rooted in pop yet transcending it, the live performance featured synthesized voices intertwining with human vocals, high-speed rhythms, and glitches flashing with skillful technique. The surging wave of frenzy stirred up by Haraguchi was unforgettable, marking an important anchor point for future retrospectives.

From Tenjo Sajiki to OZ, from jazz ensembles to solo ballads, the legendary singer Carmen Maki, now over 70, ventured abroad for the first time. We brought her latest creative formation, the "花鳥風月 (Kachofugetsu)" trio, to Shanghai.
Extraordinary sound effects, chanting and spoken word—the ups and downs of time weaving through them, slowly uttered: "In the warmth of the cocoon / Become a chrysalis / At the moment of birth / Become that which gradually fades away" (Yu Mizuki "Cocoon World")

 Two old friends, one newcomer—the re-blossoming thoughts of youth, the passionate and brilliant years of glory, the glorious history and ongoing present of Japanese rock unfolded before the Shanghai audience.

the First Overseas Oneman Concert

From Kegawa No Maries to the dresscodes, the era's distinctive hue has always been inseparable from Ryohei Shima. We held his first overseas performance in Shanghai. The five musicians with deep rapport presented madness and serene beauty to the fans, along with "the most sincere love." Of course, the indispensable track was "Shanghai Girl." When the giant gong resounded, everyone beamed with happy smiles. Before and after the show, the communication between fans, and between fans and musicians, was also touching. As Shima mentioned in his MC: "In the face of rock music, borders and nationalities mean nothing. Today, as always, was the best day."
